Royal Embassy is the name of this monstrosity of an apartment complex coming up at End Point, Manipal. While monstrous in size it looks very appealing in style like an old German castle.

Why am I posting it here? Ah that will be because this humongous model is placed in the patio of the Big Cinema at the Bharat Mall.

As soon as I started shooting [with my mobile cam] the security chap helpfully switched on the lights. Instead of saying something like "photography not allowed!" heh!

This large model of an apartment complex coming up at Manipal End Point was on display at Big Cinema (Adlabs -Bharath Mall) yesterday.

Toy Scorpio

Crude but passable toys of Indian cars are now making the rounds of toy stores. You can now buy Ambassador, Sumo, autorickshaws and such other models. Today I spotted this Mahindra and Mahindra Scorpio on eBay. The seller promises that it has no sharp edges. Heh!

PS: The creator of the models says it took 3 years for the drawings and 12 years for the model!

Liebherr LR 1750 Time Elapse of Erection

A brilliant video of a scale model crane being built. No human hands are seen, you almost expect to see 1:50 scale model humans to run around the place. Construction looks very very authentic, video caption say built/shot over 4 days, with 28 hours of animating, 1000 photographs, 983 used in the video, all compressed into 3 min 42 secs!

I had made a post on this Mobile construction crane I had happened to see on the Discovery Channel. Today I see a scale model of one of these truck cranes [The MK 100] by the same manufacturer on eBay.

Priced at $360/- plus $55 India shipping! Wow!
