Coincidences!
Several years back maybe in '91, I was in Delhi with a colleague. We had gone to attend an industrial fair at the Delhi trade fair grounds.

He introduced me to a an ex-colleague of his who was a Konkani. As we speaking we both said we were from Mangalore, and so was he. And then suddenly for no apparent reason at all I just asked him "Do you know Ramkrishna Pai in Mangalore?" (he is a person through the Rotary Club, he was the President of the club that had started our club) and he says "He is my brother!"

I still remember this person's face in front of me in Delhi. And it was totally unlike Mr. Ramkrishna's except for the front teeth. Both had similar looking uncorrected front upper teeth. Thereafter I never met him, and one day a person I know told me that "Ramkrishna's brother passed away!" When I enquired with him it turned out to be the very same person I had met in Delhi.

Several years later a chap joins my LJ, and in one of his posts I can see Mr Ramkrishna Pai. I mention that to him. It turns out that it is his uncle. His father is in the US and is the older brother.

Today his mom was commenting on my page, and saying she reads my LJ regularly, and that she would like to meet us when she come to Mangalore coming Jan. Which is when I mentioned that above incident to her to her anon comment.

And so here is my customary post:-) I have not mentioned names in case there is there is any privacy required. Ramkrishna Pai thankfully is not the only one in Mangalore, so you'll get no where from that angle;-)

When I asked him, we did clarify that we were speaking about the same Ramkrishna Pai. After all it could have been a different person, so I mentioned the business he was in and his brother had confirmed it.
