The bimbli fruit
I had posted a recipe for Bimbli Tambali, and some of you wanted to know what a bimbli was (or looked like I suppose). [info]arunshanbhag has posted a comment with a link on the bimbli, and you can have a look at that there, or you can look at this photo that I took of the bimblis in our garden. This is from a tree which is only three years old, and is already some 9' in height.

Prem, this is called "Irumban puli" in Malayalam. We use it mainly in fish preparation. In Kerala at least in the layman's language it relates to the tamarind(normal imli) family.
